Sarcasm Makes You Smarter, And More Creative

A 2011 study shed some light on why this is. Essentially, while a straightforward remark requires only basic comprehension, sarcastic remarks require multiple levels of comprehension—that is the listener must bear in mind the experiences, viewpoints, and biases of whoever is speaking and assimilate the information into the analysis of what’s being said. Also, since these types of remarks “echo .nbsp;.nbsp;.nbsp;established beliefs or social norms,” they stick with us longer.
This is important, because you may have noticed that sarcasm permeates our society. According to a different study, the phrase “yeah, right” was used sarcastically 23 percent of the time it was uttered. Also, it was found that the use of sarcasm soared when the conversation was taking place by computer, which we simply can not believe.

New start up company's making A.I products 14x

Jobs requiring A.I skills are up 5x now is a great time to learn the computer language Python I have used this language since I was 13.

A.I import products have went from 100000 to 250000 from 2000 to 2016.

Not to make this political because that was not my intention but looks like yang is on to something.

A fellow named Powell made the first trip through the Grand Canyon in 1867.
It took almost 75 years for the next 100 people to follow his trail.
Today, 20,000 people a year make that trip.

We made that trip. Holy Cow! What a trip! But Shooter did it with his SWMBO alone.
Hat tip to SWMBO. Bigger one to Shooter.

What I found funny, was the women were instructed to pee in the river upstream, the men downstream. We didn't mind getting peed on.
You were instructed not to pee on land. They get avg. 4.5 inches of rain/year. Now the mules, they can pee and poop wherever...

And Wesley Powell had only one arm. Lost his arm in the civil war.

    @Conroe;
Did you hear that some outfit from Arizona wants to put 4 dams on the little Colorado?
The Grand Canyon outfitters are ready to riot.
Reminds Shooter of when the Feds wanted a third damn in the Canyon, and Martin Litton led the charge to stop them. Put Sierra Club on the map.

There will be a riot if that happens. The stop at the Little Colorado is one of the highlights of the rafting trip <as you well know>

For those who don't know, the Little Colorado is a tributary to the Colorado, it's much warmer water, and it has a blue/white tint
due to the limestone it originates from. It's beautiful, and if they succeed in daming it up, it would be a 'dam shame'. With the history
of lake mead, lake powell, and others, I thought we had learned our lesson on dam-ing up our rivers.

That Sierra Club and the river outfitters have got to stop that nonsense, and I suspect they will be successful.

Well, the Navajo tribe squashed plans for an IMAX theatre, a "destination" resort and a gondola to the bottom of the canyon at the confluence a couple of years ago.

People who haven't been just cannot understand how fucking stupid this shit is.
    Leave it alone.

The concession at Yosemite wanted to build a gondola to the top of Glacier Point from Curry Village. The Sierra Club thankfully put a stop to that also.

Those cables stretched across the canyon wreaked havoc on helicopters until the cables were removed.
And a helicopter is the only way out of that ditch, ya can't hike out but in a very few places, if at all.
We had a fatality during our trip. It was a middle eastern dude that hiked too far without enough water.
He wasn't part of our group, but his buddies flagged us down from the banks. Our guide made the assessment,
made the radio call, and off we went. They wouldn't discuss any details. I figured we'd be carting a dead body
for the rest of the trip, but that wasn't the case, thank goodness.

Why in the fuck would someone go to the Grand Canyon to watch an IMAX movie? Jesus Christ!

Soon enough if they find oil or trees there it will be handed to corporations to profit from.

They already know what minerals and oil reserves are there. As for trees, not so much. And no, the corporations ain't getting any. The park service, Navajo, Havasupai, and Hualapai Indians make sure of that.

Before Glen Canyon dam was built, spring floods would bring down all the trees and wood (and other shit) from the entire Colorado and Green drainage and deposit them in massive piles along the beaches.
Martin Litton had photos of house size piles of wood being burned at the direction of authorities, you know, cause of the fire hazard. He estimated that there was enough wood deposits in the canyon to keep boaters and campers in wood for many generations.
After Glen Canyon was built, no more wood in the canyon.
Today, if boaters want a campfire even, they have to bring in their own wood, which is unrealistic. Even charcoal is difficult to transport, its bulky, dirty and needs to be kept dry.

Sometimes, we fuck with nature with best intentions but worst outcomes.

AMD has released there AMD Epyc 7601 CPU with 32cores and 64 threads 64mbcatch 2.7ghz on all cores. This Server grade CPU at $3,200 dollars is not something went for home use this thing is ment for data farms and large server banks. Such as Netflix Hulu YouTube if those companies switch to Ryzen Epyc where going to start seeing a lot of 2017 cheap Intel Xeons flood the used CPU market.

Researchers at IBM made a stop-motion movie from the world’s smallest characters with the canvas measuring just 45x25 nanometers. They achieved this by rearranging individual atoms to create images.

Report Finds Marijuana Still Leading Cause of Drum Circles

    https://thehardtimes.net/culture/re...re-PC3nKLwWbjHGP9sozh61VdoYGlhJYF46WvE6Nstg9g

VENICE BEACH, Calif. — Researchers from the University of California-Los Angeles reported Wednesday that marijuana is still the leading cause of drum circles, confirming that there are no other possible explanations for the origins of the social gatherings.
“For the last several decades, some of the greatest minds in science have attempted to understand how these improvisational jams take form. But after thousands of hours of observation, we’ve identified a direct link between happily playing drums amongst a crowd of strangers in a public place and being absolutely blazed out of your mind,” said lead researcher Dr. Taylor Reynolds. “Of the 4,000 participants in the study observed playing various handheld instruments while dancing around, every single person was undoubtedly stoned off their ass… and I suspect the entire control group may have been too.”

Researchers believe this study will provide a deeper understanding into how marijuana may act as a gateway to instruments like bongos and cowbells.

“We found many folks start by experimenting with an egg shaker, or even a tambourine. However, with enough marijuana in their system, it’s not uncommon to see an otherwise self-aware adult noodling around to the off-beat rhythms of a haphazardly played djembe in the middle of a full-blown drum circle,” explained research assistant Dr. Jessica Alvarez. “Before you know it, they could be dancing to a didgeridoo played by a poncho-wearing member of the community.”

Indeed, several drum circle regulars involved in the study noted they never imagined things could ever get as dire as being willing participants in a drum circle.

“The thought of dancing around to some guy sloppily playing a doumbek seemed like something that only happened to other people. But then someone passed me a joint in my buddy’s backyard, and I suddenly understood what would compel someone to kick off their shoes and flail around in public like that,” said community member Adam Morter. “Those rhythms… they just take over you, man.”

Dr. Reynolds, the lead researcher, reiterated that the impromptu gatherings were not necessarily dangerous — but participants should exercise caution at all times when in the presence of marijuana, as a drum circle could erupt at any moment.

“If you find yourself at a drum circle with no recollection of smoking pot, seek medical attention immediately, as you may have been dosed by a marijuana edible,” he warned. “No sober individual just picks up a handheld drum.”

Here's something that I just learned. Gold isn't native to Earth. It came from outer space. :nailbiting: Yes, really.
We don't have anything powerful enough to make gold. Even the Earth's core isn't hot enough. It was formed by an event that blasted stars apart and scattered throughout the universe. It reaches Earth in meteorites, astroids, space dust, etc. over the billions of years. It then recirculated in the Earth as it changes form through volcanic events, earthquakes etc. It gets shot back up to the surface through fissures. One reason so much gold was found in California. There are many fractures running through the state.
It's much more complicated than that. This just a very brief outline of the history but it was something I never knew.
    Cool, huh?

It'd be a fucking heavy apple though.

(there is empty space on my scales right now , and it dosen't weigh a damned thing ,
yet I step on them , and they rocket up to about 76 kg [11st] ,
so me alone would make an orange or apple a tad heavy )

      Conversely , think about this;

What are you made up of , if 7,000,000,000 of you can be put in an apple ?

    Typhoon Hagibis

The storm is the equivalent of a Category 5 hurricane, packing winds of up to 305kmh, and boasts a 55 kilometre-wide eye.

Hagibis gained strength faster than just about any storm ever seen on earth before. Over the course of 18 hours, maximum winds increased by almost 150kmh, the fastest intensification since 1996.

A typhoon is a mature tropical cyclone that develops in the Northwestern Pacific Basin. Hurricanes, typhoons and cyclones are actually all the same thing, but different names are used in different parts of the world.

Hagibis is moving at nine miles per hour and forecasted to make landfall late on Saturday evening and has the potential to be hugely destructive.

If the storm comes in just to the right of the bay, significant storm surges could flood parts of the city.

homes , businesses and much more will be ruined , destroyed , devastated ,

How would they feel if it was allowed to go ahead , and their wives and children were the ones who died in the mayhem ?
