For Windows I recommend WinPatrol, it really puts the task manager into a user friendly context.

 

I tried that didnt like it. I would use process explorer and auto runs by sys internals they are great programs.

 

ok i guess, can't you tell? i have a dell computer running xp with norton and ie but it's a 2003 model so it's older than Shake, i think i need a new graphics card?

 

My Mac would crash before I went over to OSX. However, since 2005 or so, I haven't had one on either my Mini or my Macbok.

If you are going to be getting into PC gaming and its heavy yes a upgraded graphics card is a must. I recommend about 512-1gb for size. Norton sucks btw thats why I use avast. Just so you know. btw I sent you a pm XD

 

Um? One what? you left out a thingy there or are you referring to viruses? Most people belive macs cant get viruses simply because its exteremly hard to get them on a mac as most of the world is using pc so more are coded for that than for mac but there are some that made to attack macs.

 

Yeah, I totally got rid of OS9, I don't even use it for classic.

 

Oh god 09 is such crap I used to used to use that in HS when I was taking the cpu classes.

 

One crash. I haven't had a system crash in about 4 years. And no, in ten years of using Mac I've never had a virus and never installed antivirus software. Also, while there have been some proof of concept viruses for Macs I have never heard of a successful viral attack on Macs. They've set up a lot of demonstrations trying to hack macs and they pretty much all fail.

I hacked my Mac to give it a start button like windows on the dock.

 

Well see mac has the whole doc menu thing so that you dont need a start bar lol thats pretty cool how did you do that one?

 

I dragged a folder onto the dock and fillied it with aliases. I grew up with windows, the tsunami effect is not a good way to find a program and open it. It's pretty, but it's not handy.

I never said they couldn't be hacked, just that in the hacker competitions that they hold every so often, no one was able to do it. The last one I read about was from a few years back where hackers spent three days trying to get through and couldn't so they changed the rules and someone had to click a link to be taken to a website and then deliberately install some code before the hack could be done. They then proclaimed the mac sufficiently hacked and awarded a monetary prize and a macbook pro.

It's where all the the icons of the would-be start menu are in a row all tiny and when you role the mouse over them the gradually get bigger as per their position of the mouse. It looks like a wave when you do it. It's pretty, but also dumb.
